About Westerlind
Founded by Andrea Westerlind in New York in 2014, Westerlind grew from a personal point of view: that what we wear outdoors can be as considered as what we wear everywhere else.
With an eye for the unexpected and an instinct for things that are both useful and beautiful, Andrea curates a mix of apparel, footwear, gear and objects where utility and good design meet. Technical pieces sit alongside everyday staples, heritage brands alongside lesser-known finds, and outdoor essentials alongside pieces chosen simply because they’re great to wear. The collection is shaped less by category than by a shared sense of purpose, quality and style.
That mix has always been at the heart of Westerlind. A jacket might be designed for the mountains but feel just as right in the city. A gardening clog becomes an everyday shoe. A piece of technical gear can be appreciated as much for the way it looks as for the way it performs. Westerlind is interested in that space in between—where fashion and function overlap, and where the outdoors becomes part of everyday life rather than something reserved for the weekend.
Since opening its first shop on Spring Street in New York City, Westerlind has grown into a collection of stores, each bringing the same point of view to its surroundings. More than traditional retail spaces, the shops are places for discovery: new designers, old favorites, unexpected objects and the occasional reason to stay awhile.
Today, Westerlind continues to evolve through Andrea’s curation and curiosity. The assortment changes, new brands are discovered and new places become part of the story, but the approach remains instinctive and a little left of center: choose well, dress well, get outside—and don’t take any of it too seriously.
