Japanese Limestone Neoprene

Neoprene is an elastomer material made of synthetic foamed rubber that’s long been used for wetsuits. The original neoprene was made with petroleum based chemicals, but utilizing the raw material of limestone requires less energy. Rubber chips made of calcium carbonate are melted, baked and then sliced into a 1mm thickness to make the fabric. Not only is it more sustainable, but limestone neoprene’s flexibility, insulation properties and lifespan will outperform petroleum-based rubber any day.
